Edward Shulman Named 2023 “Lawyer of the Year”

Immigration Attorney and founder of the Shulman Law Group, Edward Shulman, has been selected by his colleagues in the field of Immigration Law and recognized for his professional excellence by The Best Lawyers in America® wherein he has been officially named 2023 “Lawyer of the Year,” for the State of New Jersey.

The Best Lawyers in America® is a well-reputed research publication which has, as its core aim, the mission to highlight the top legal minds in America so that consumers may make discerning decisions about whom they choose to represent them.

The process of awarding a lawyer this prestigious honor requires a strict methodological process employing sophisticated procedures and substantive evaluations aimed at assessing the quality of a particular lawyer’s services, conduct, professionalism, and efficacy in their specific field of law.  Part of the process includes asking peer reviewers who are colleagues within the same field and same geographical location the question: “If you were unable to take a case yourself, how likely would you be to refer to this nominee?” In order to be named “Lawyer of the Year,” the research teams scores and assesses these responses in addition to reviewing the lawyer’s professional and ethical standing.

Mr. Shulman has been practicing Immigration Law for 28 years and has achieved many professional milestones and recognitions, including being rated Super Lawyers and a Band One Attorney by Chambers USA.  This honor of being named “Lawyer of the Year” ranks among one of his highest honors as it reflects his resume of achievements and contributions to Immigration Law, not to mention recognition by his peers in the field.  Apart from his years of devoted advocacy for his own immigration clients, Attorney Shulman has served as a former Chapter Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the New Jersey State Bar Association. He has also lectured for several universities and community-based institutions, lobbied for Immigration Reform, written articles and blogs about changes to and nuances within Immigration Law, and has served as a national mentor assisting new Immigration Lawyers.
